Granite Credit Union is releasing a $1000 educator grant in honor of Maxine Babalis. Maxine served on Granite's Board of Directors for 43 years. This grant is a tribute to her service and legacy. We encourage parents, teachers, PTA, school administration, and Granite Credit Union members to fill out the application for a teacher that has gone above and beyond in leadership and child advocacy.
About Maxine:
Maxine has spent 43 years as a volunteer at Granite Credit Union. That's nearly half of the 87 years Granite has been in existence. As a member of the Board of Directors, Maxine has been very influential in the shaping of Granite Credit Union and its growth and success.
A graduate of the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature, Maxine spent 32 years teaching in the Granite School District. She taught primarily Elementary school and has always been a champion and advocate for children and education.
Maxine has been a very involved member of Granite’s Board of Directors, acting in every capacity and responsibility during her tenure. She regularly planned and organized our Annual Meetings and other events and it will come as no surprise that she has lent her experience to the scholarship selection process.
We are indebted to Maxine for her service to Granite Credit Union and our community over the past few decades.
